A large part of what we do

HIAB Container Transport

We remove containers and cabins with our own HIAB lorries. That means one company lifts, loads and carries your unit, with no separate lifting vehicle for you to find or pay for.

Why having our own HIAB lorries matters to you

We arrive with the right vehicle and a team trained and experienced in lifting and transporting containers and cabins, so there is no separate lifting vehicle for you to arrange.

  • One company to deal with, from quote to collection
  • The lift and the transport planned together
  • The vehicle chosen to suit the size of the unit and the access
  • Containers and cabins secured on our own lorries for the journey

Our HIAB vehicles

We run a range of HIAB lorries so the vehicle can be matched to the unit and to the access on site. We decide which one to send once we know the size of the container or cabin and where it is standing.

Rigid HIAB lorries

Our everyday vehicles for a single container or cabin, including tighter yards, driveways and school grounds.

Wagon and drag

A lorry and trailer together, so more than one unit can go on the same trip where the access allows it.

Articulated HIAB

For longer units and larger loads, on sites with the room for an artic to get in and turn.

We also run low loaders, extendable trailers and articulated flatbeds where a unit is better carried than lifted at one end of the job. Not sure which suits your unit? Send us photos and the postcode and we will tell you what we will send.

On the road

From your site to wherever it goes next

Once a container or cabin is on the lorry, it is secured for the journey and taken away. Our lorries carry units along the motorway network across England and into Scotland, so distance from Manchester does not stop us collecting.

The photo here shows one of our HIAB lorries on the M1 at Brockhall with a steel unit on board.

What a HIAB needs on site

To lift safely, the lorry needs to stand on firm, level ground with room to put down its stabiliser legs. The lifting arm needs a clear path, so cables, trees and roof edges nearby all matter.

Send photos of the route and the area around the unit when you ask for a quote. It is the quickest way for us to confirm which vehicle to send.

HIAB container transport questions

What is a HIAB lorry?

A HIAB lorry is a lorry with a lifting arm mounted on its chassis. It can lift a container or cabin from the ground onto its own bed and then carry it away, so no separate lifting vehicle is needed.

Do I need to arrange my own lifting vehicle?

No. We use our own HIAB lorries, so lifting, loading and transport are all handled by us.

Will your lorry be able to reach my container?

Usually, yes. How much any HIAB can lift depends on how far the unit sits from the lorry, so we match the vehicle to the job. Send us photos and a note about the access and we will tell you what we will send.

Can you carry more than one container on a trip?

Often, yes. Our wagon and drag and articulated HIAB vehicles can take more than one unit on a trip, depending on the size of the units and the access at both ends. We plan the loads when we quote.

Got a container or cabin you want gone?

Send us a few photos, the postcode and a rough idea of access. We will tell you whether you pay for disposal, whether removal is free or whether we can buy it.
