Shipping Container Removal
We remove unwanted shipping containers from homes, businesses, construction sites and ports, lifting them onto our own HIAB lorries and taking them away. One container or many, across England, Scotland and Wales.

Shipping container removal from any kind of site
Containers end up in all sorts of places. Some were bought for storage and are no longer needed, some came with a property or a yard, and some are left over at the end of a building project. Whatever the reason, we can collect them.
Where we collect from
- Private homes, driveways and gardens with suitable access
- Business premises, yards and car parks
- Construction sites at the end of a project
- Ports and storage sites
- Schools, colleges and other public buildings
As well as shipping containers, we remove steel storage containers and site stores. Every shipping container collection is planned in advance from your photos, so the right lorry arrives on the day.
If your site is not on the list, tell us about it anyway. The questions we ask are always the same: where is the container, how big is it, what condition is it in and how do we get a lorry to it?
One container or a whole row of them
We take any quantity. Clearing several containers from a yard or site is a normal job for us, and it is often more straightforward to plan them as one collection than to deal with them one at a time.
When you ask for a quote for more than one unit, let us know how many there are, their sizes and whether they are side by side, stacked or spread around the site. Photos of the whole area help us plan the lifts and the number of loads.
Sizes we remove
We collect containers in every size from 8ft up to 45ft. The lengths below are the usual external lengths for each size and are shown as a guide only.
| Container | Approximate length | Often used for |
|---|---|---|
| 8ft | About 2.4 metres | Garden and small site storage |
| 10ft | About 3 metres | Garden and small site storage |
| 12ft | About 3.7 metres | Garden, farm and site storage |
| 16ft | About 4.9 metres | Garden, farm and site storage |
| 20ft | About 6 metres | Business, farm and site storage |
| 24ft | About 7.3 metres | Site and yard storage |
| 30ft | About 9.1 metres | Site and yard storage |
| 32ft | About 9.8 metres | Site and yard storage |
| 40ft | About 12.2 metres | Bulk storage and larger sites |
| 40ft high cube | About 12.2 metres, taller than standard | Bulk storage needing extra height |
| 45ft | About 13.7 metres | Bulk storage and larger sites |
Getting ready for a container removal
A HIAB lift goes smoothly when we know about the site in advance. These are the things we ask about.
Access
Is there a clear route for a lorry, and are any gates or entrances narrow or height restricted?
Ground
Where will the lorry stand? Firm, level ground is needed for the lorry and its stabiliser legs.
Overhead
Are there cables, trees or roof edges above or near the container?
Contents
Will anything be left inside? Let us know so we can plan the lift.

Removal cost: you pay, it is free, or we buy it
Every container and cabin is different. Once we have seen photos and know where it is, we will tell you which of these applies.
You pay for disposal
For units in poor condition, where the cost of lifting, transporting and disposing of them is more than they are worth. We quote a price before anything is booked.
Free removal
Where a container or cabin still has enough value to cover the cost of collecting it, we can take it away free of charge.
We buy it
Where the unit is in good enough condition, we may make you an offer and pay you for it, as well as collecting it.
Which one applies depends on condition, with size and location also playing a part. Send us photos and we will tell you.
Shipping container removal questions
How does shipping container removal work?
You send us photos, the postcode, the size and a note about access. We tell you whether you pay for disposal, removal is free or we can buy the container, then agree a date. On the day our HIAB lorry lifts the container onto its bed, it is secured and we take it away.
Can you remove more than one container at once?
Yes. We take any quantity. Tell us how many containers there are and how they are positioned, and we will plan the collection around that.
Do you collect damaged or rusted containers?
Yes. We collect worn, damaged and disused containers as well as ones in good condition. Condition is what decides whether you pay for disposal, removal is free or we buy the container.
Does the container need to be empty?
Please tell us if anything will be left inside when you ask for a quote. Contents change the weight and how the container is lifted and carried, so we need to know in advance.
Can you remove a shipping container near me?
We are based in Manchester and collect across England, Scotland and Wales, so wherever your container is, give us the postcode and we will quote from there.
Do you remove storage containers as well as shipping containers?
Yes. Storage container removal works the same way: send photos, the postcode and a note about access, and we plan the collection on one of our own HIAB lorries.
What if the container is stacked or hard to reach?
Send photos showing how the containers sit and what is around them, including gates, buildings, trees and cables. We will tell you how we would approach the lift.
Ready to have your container removed?
Send us a few photos, the postcode and a rough idea of access. We will tell you whether you pay for disposal, whether removal is free or whether we can buy it.
