We collect disused containers from homes, businesses, sites and ports

Shipping containers turn up in all sorts of places. A homeowner buys one for garden storage, a business uses one for stock, a contractor leaves one behind at the end of a build, or a port has units that have come to the end of their working life. Sooner or later, many of them are no longer wanted, and they can sit unused for a long time simply because nobody is sure who to call.
We collect disused and unwanted containers from all of these places, and we do it with our own HIAB lorries, so there is no separate lifting vehicle for you to arrange. The same team plans the lift, loads the container and takes it away.
Where we collect from
- Private homes, driveways and gardens with suitable access
- Business premises, yards and car parks
- Construction sites
- Ports and storage sites
- Schools, colleges and farms

Each type of site has its own considerations. A garden may have a narrow gate or a soft lawn. A business may need its yard kept open for deliveries. A construction site may have other vehicles moving around, and a port, school or college will usually have its own rules on access and safety.
How it works
Send us photos of the container, the postcode and a note about the access. We look at the size, condition and location and tell you which of three outcomes applies: you pay for disposal, removal is free, or we buy the container. Once you are happy, we agree a date and our lorry lifts the container and takes it away.
The details that help us most are:
- Photos of each side, the doors, the inside and the floor
- The route from the road and where a lorry could stand
- Anything overhead, such as cables, trees or roof edges
- Whether anything will be left inside
Our quote form accepts up to four photos, and asks for your name, email, phone number, a short description of the unit and the consent box.
One container or many
We take any quantity. If there are several containers on one site, tell us how many and how they are laid out so we can plan the collection properly.

We also collect portable cabins, site offices, welfare units and steel anti-vandal units, including stacked and linked units, so a mixed clearance can be dealt with together.
What happens to the container
After collection, containers are sold on and used again, refurbished with repairs and fresh paint, or scrapped so the steel can be recycled. Which route a container takes depends mainly on its condition.
Before you get in touch
If a container was left on your land by someone else, check that it is yours to dispose of before arranging removal.
We are based in Manchester and collect across England, Scotland and Wales. Send us your photos, call us on 0330 041 5286, or read more about shipping container removal.
